I just bought a Russian GP-5 gas mask. It came with a NEW (un-expired) filter. What is in the filter. Are there ANY dangerous chemicals or stuff in it. I do not want to wear it for real protection. Just for fun and to scare friends. I am also using this for a Halloween costume.Are GP-5 gas mask filters safe?
The filter should be perfectly safe to use if it hasn't been opened.
