Is it true that you will get sick or die if you wear a Gas Mask with its filter?

Wearing a gas mask with a filter should not be a problem in any way if the filter is in good condition. Some filters contain chemicals which could cause a problem if moisture or physical damage to the cartridge allows the chemicals to leave the cartridge and migrate to the inside of the mask. Other than that don't worry and enjoy.Is it true that you will get sick or die if you wear a Gas Mask with its filter?
