Im creating a gas mask for art class to bring a message across on global warming.But how can i make a filter?

the mask has to be made from a box that covers your head till your shoulders...but im havin a difficult time because i dont know how to make a filter and i dont see any gas masks which covers the whole head and how can i make the design........I NEED HELP!Im creating a gas mask for art class to bring a message across on global warming.But how can i make a filter?
You could try using 2 small soup cans painted over, with the open ends covered in metal mesh.





Maybe attach a small box to the larger one (over the mouth, one corner pointing up) then cut holes on the sides and put the cans through them, angled out and slightly downwards.

Don't really need that tube on the bottom, but if you wanted to add it in you could get an old vacuum hose and paint it over. Just connect it to a box that holds onto your belt on the side.Im creating a gas mask for art class to bring a message across on global warming.But how can i make a filter?
This is a prop, right. I mean, you are not going to expose yourself to toxic gas now, are you? Want a filter? Use a vacuum cleaner filter. Instead of a box, get a fancy paperstyle shopping bag from a newsagency and add that. You will have plenty of room for head right down to your shoulders.
