We want to make a mask of a friend; I need to find a place were I can send in a picture of him and then have them make a mask based on the picture. I also don't want to pay to much I don't care if it is poor quality because its only going to be for one day. Fast arrival would be preferable. How to get a custom mask made?
I would find a photo of your friend facing straight at the camera and I would bring it to any photo developing store. Have the image blown-up a few sizes so it will be approximately the same size as your own face in real life. Once you get that back, it shouldn't take them too long, maybe an hour, you can either back it up on a piece of cardboard, cut out the eyes so your own can see through and attach something stick like (such as a chopstick) so it would be like a masquerade mask.
If you're more creative, you can go to a costume (luckily Halloween is close by) or a craft store and pick up a blank mask. I saw some at a Halloween shop the other day. (check out the link at the bottom for a picture) You can then paint his/her face on it or try to paper mache the enlarged photo onto the blank mask. It'll cost a lot less to do-it-yourself and it should work just as well.
Good luck!
