Is the idea for wearing masks cool for my band?

i know its not original, and it wasnt my idea, but most of my band want us to wear masks since were kinda young plus it would would look cool.





is this idea ok?





if so, what mask would be ideal for a drummer?

Masks indicate theatrics and a gimmick. Only the most theatrical bands wear masks or paint their faces. Most of those bands are not mainstream and very hardcore, so i guess it depends what type of music you play.





Instead of masks, how about you all wear custom clothing with your band logo on it? Something consistent but not cheesy.





Masks can't help you unless you go all out and get good lighting equipment, smoke machine, etc...... If you want people to take your band seriously, you must put forth alot of effort.Is the idea for wearing masks cool for my band?
some people think its lame, others cool...





for example, Slipknot wears masks and it gives them a cool appearance but also they seem a bit silly and stupid..





but just do what you think is best and what you prefer.
